A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR A REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER FOR
NA'ALEHU PARK.
WHEREAS,the Na`alehu Community Center, which is located in Na`alehu Park, is used
by The Food Basket Incorporated("The Food Basket")to distribute food to the community; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation allows The Food Basket to deliver
food on prearranged days, which is distributed the following day by community volunteers; and
WHEREAS, currently, only dry and canned goods can be provided at the Na`alehu
Community Center; and
WHEREAS, The Food Basket wants to improve their ability to increase the amount and
type of foods provided to people in need and perhaps increase the number of deliveries per week;
therefore, The Food Basket is requesting that the County of Hawai`i purchase a large capacity,
residential refrigerator-freezer for the Na`alehu Community Center; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation for the purchase of a large capacity, residential
refrigerator-freezer to be placed in the Na`alehu Community Center;now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Parks and Recreation shall
purchase a large capacity, residential refrigerator-freezer which shall have the highest Energy
Star efficiency rating; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
