RESOLUTION NO. 370 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO `AHA PUNANA LEO,
INC., FOR `AHA HO'OMOLOA KIHEI (GRADUATION CELEBRATION) FOR KE
KULA `O NAWAHIOKALANI`OPU`U CHARTER SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, Ke Kula `O Nawahiokalani`opu`u is a Hawaiian language charter school
located in Kea'au; and
WHEREAS, `Aha Punana Leo, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will provide Ke
Kula `O Nawahiokalani`opu`u graduating class of 2014 with `Aha Ho'omoloa Kihei, a night of
celebration recognizing the knowledge the students have accumulated during their childhood and
adolescent years, precious knowledge that passes with them into their years of adulthood lying
ahead; and
WHEREAS, `Aha Ho'omoloa Kihei provides a safe, alcohol- and drug-free environment
for the graduating high school students of Ke Kula `O Nawahiokalani`opu`u; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to `Aha Punana Leo, Inc., to help pay for
expenses associated with `Aha Ho'omoloa Kihei for Ke Kula `O Nawahiokalani`opu`u charter
school; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of the Department of Liquor Control and Director of Finance and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
