Re: Resolution for multi-year agreement
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year, for a
new multi-year agreement between the Department of Information Technology and Hawaiian
Telcom, for Integrated Services Digital Network Primary Rate Interface (ISDN PRI) service at
the West Hawaii Civic Center, and in Hilo. We are currently being charged at the non-
discounted rate of$ 2,160 per month. By entering into a three year agreement,the rate will be
$1,185 per month, resulting in an annual savings of$11,700.

A. REQUEST:
Multi-year agreement for Hawaiian Tel service for County- Renew Integrated Digital Services Network
(ISDN)Primary Rate Interface(PRI)TN 323-4720 for discounted telephone service for Voice over Internet
Protocol (VolP) phones deployed in Hilo and at West Hawaii Civic Center.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)
We get our general telephone service for the County from Hawaiian Telecommunications via 3 ISDN PRI
circuits. These communications circuits provides phone numbers and dial tone for over 400 unique phone
numbers at the County. Our current Multi-year agreement expired and we are now being charged at the
non-discounted rate of$2160 per month. Renewing our Multi-year agreement will cost the County$1,185
per month, and will save the County$975,per month, or a total of$11,700 per year for the 3 year multi-year
agreement.
