The amendment of this section is to expand the use of the revolving fund under part(a),to allow for the development of housing, in addition to the preparation for the development of housing. The Office of Housing and Community Development indicates that time is of the essence, and requests that this bill be waived from Finance Committee, and be placed on the April 16, 2014 Council Agenda. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION [USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): Section 2-75 states, "The revolving fund shall be utilized to pay for items such as: (a) contractual services, housing surveys, travel, supplies and materials, and other front-end costs related to the development of housing, and (b) to exercise the buy-back option running in favor of the County contained in any conveyance document and to pay the costs of maintaining,repairing, renting, or reselling units purchased by the County pursuant thereto." This amendment is to expand the use of the revolving fund under part (a) to allow for the development of housing and not only the preparation for the development of housing.
