RESOLUTION NO. 373 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ARTS &
SCIENCES CENTER FOR HAWAII ACADEMY OF ARTS AND SCIENCE'S SENIOR
PROJECT NIGHT.
WHEREAS, Hawai`i Academy of Arts& Science (HAAS) is a public charter school
located in the Puna district; and
WHEREAS, Arts & Sciences Center, a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization, will provide
the HAAS graduating class of 2014 with a Senior Project Night on May 16, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Senior Project Night provides a safe, alcohol- and drug-free environment
for graduating high school students of HAAS; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project,or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Arts& Sciences Center to help pay for
expenses associated with the HAAS Senior Project Night on May 16, 2014; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of the Department of Liquor Control and Director of Finance and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
