Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 221,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 221 transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee, via Communication No. 757
dated March 12, 2014, amends the Hawai`i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 4,
Section 24-276, Schedule 24 (crosswalks), Subsection (a), Hdmakua, to relocate a crosswalk on
Pakalana Street.
This amendment is being proposed based on a request by the Hawaii Police Department to put in the
subject crosswalk due to the frequent crossing of Pakalana Street at this location.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Bill No. 221 and recommends its passage on first reading.
