Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 224,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 224 transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee, via Communication No. 760
dated March 12, 2014, amends the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6,
Section 24-288.1, Schedule 36.1 (active loading and unloading zones), to add portion of Pakalana Street
to Subsection (a) Hamakua.
This amendment is being proposed based on a request by the Hawai`i Police Department to create a
short-term loading and unloading area fronting Honoka`a Elementary School.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Bill No. 224 and recommends its passage on first reading.
