Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 345-14, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 345-14, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 748
dated March 12, 2014, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the
State of Hawaii, Hawaii Public Housing Authority, and authorizes the payment for a multi-year
contract for the use of the Kea`au Nutrition Center- Hale Aloha O Puna located at 16-189 Pili Mua
Street, Kea`au, Hawaii 96749, Tax Map Key: 1-6-143:035.
The resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a three-year Facility Lease Agreement at an estimated
monthly cost of$150, with the option of two one-year extensions. The facility would be used for
various activities in the neighborhood community.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent of the
Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken
pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 345-14, and
recommends its adoption.
