�JMgV OF M, <br /> y •G <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �TF GF•NF,:1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CHILD & FAMILY <br /> SERVICE IN EAST HAWAII TO ASSIST WITH TRANSPORTATION NEEDS OF ITS <br /> CONSUMERS. <br /> WHEREAS, Child & Family Service (CFS), a nonprofit 501(c)3, operates two domestic <br /> abuse shelters in Hawaii County which assist victims of domestic violence by providing <br /> advocacy, safety planning, and access to services such as counseling, temporary lodging and <br /> food, tutoring for children unable to attend school, obtaining temporary restraining orders, <br /> housing, financial aid and more; and <br /> WHEREAS, victims of domestic violence oftentimes arrive at the domestic abuse shelter <br /> without basic items such as hygienes, clothes, shoes, school supplies and means of <br /> transportation; and <br /> WHEREAS, victims of domestic violence need to attend legal, housing, counseling, and <br /> educational appointments; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency provides island-wide transportation and offers <br /> bulk purchase of taxi coupons and expiration-free bus tickets; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the <br /> grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to <br /> the Mass Transit Agency to purchase 133 sheets of bus tickets for a total of 1,330 individual bus <br /> tickets to be used to provide transportation for individuals engaged with CFS, East Hawaii <br /> Domestic Abuse Shelter; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $1,995 <br />
