RESOLUTION NO. 409 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KAILUA VILLAGE
BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, INC., FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
CONSTRUCTION/ENGINEERING DOCUMENTS FOR THE ALI`I DRIVE LIGHTING
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, Inc. (KVBID), is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a model sutainable community that is
a better place to invest, work, live, and play; and
WHEREAS, KVBID is in need of funding to develop a pedestrian-scale lighting plan
with a thematic heritage design that improves the overall illumination within public spaces and
celebrates historic and cultural landmarks in the Historic Kailua Village; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to
the Department of Public Works to provide a grant to KVBID for the development of
construction/engineering documents for the Ali`i Drive lighting project; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Public Works and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
