RESOLUTION NO. 39S
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF
TWO EMERGENCY CALL BOXES IN KEHENA.
WHEREAS, the Kehena area, especially along Kalapana-Kapoho Road and Kehena
Beach, contains numerous "dead spots" or is entirely inaccessible on the wireless phone network;
and
WHEREAS, recent incidents requiring emergency personnel indicates a serious need for
emergency call boxes to service this area; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 3.4.3, Public Safety Actions, of the Puna Community
Development Plan, it recommends providing more emergency call boxes in Puna; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Civil Defense Agency for the purchase and installation of two emergency call boxes in
Kehena; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Civil Defense Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
