A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MALAMA O PUNA
FOR THE PAHOA HIGH AND INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD.
WHEREAS, Malama O Puna, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will plan and
implement a Project Grad for Pahoa High and Intermediate School's graduating class of 2014 on
May 18, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Pahoa High and Intermediate School Project Grad provides a safe, alcohol-
free and drug-free environment for graduating high school students; and
WHEREAS, Malama O Puna has identified a financial need for expenses associated
with the Pahoa High and Intermediate School Project Grad; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Malama O Puna for the Pahoa High and
Intermediate School Project Grad; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of the Department of Liquor Control and Director of Finance and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
