COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 782/13ill No. 230
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 230, reports as follows:
Bill No. 230, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 782 dated
March 28, 2014, amends Ordinance No. 08-106 of the County of Hawaii, as heretofore amended
pertaining to the issuance of general obligation bonds for the purpose of funding all or a portion of
the costs of various capital improvement projects for the County.
The bill amends Exhibit A, Draft 5 by decreasing funding for Kealekehe Wastewater Treatment Plant
(WTP) Aeration Upgrade ($2,650,000) and eliminating funding for the Kealekehe WTP Sludge
Removal project ($3 million) due to the Department of Environmental Management's acquisition of
State Revolving Fund financing for these projects. Adds Repair/Replace Wastewater Facilities
($3 million) and Kamakoa Nui Community Development ($2,650,000).
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 230, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
