No. 361-14 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai i <br /> TIME: 1:39 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 361-14, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 361-14, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 236, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford <br /> via Communication No. 784, dated March 28, 2014, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an <br /> agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, pursuant to Hawaii Revised <br /> Statutes 46-7, for the Hawaii County Police Department's Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner(SAFE) <br /> program. <br /> Funds in the amount of$24,946 would be used to contract an agency to oversee, coordinate, and <br /> perform services of the SAFE program, which is an undertaking by the County to improve its response <br /> to violent crimes against women. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent of <br /> the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be <br /> taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 361-14, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> sc <br /> AYES NOES ABS Ex Respectfully submitted, <br /> EOFF X <br /> FORD x COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> ILAGAN X <br /> KANUHA X l <br /> KERN X <br /> ONISHI X <br /> POINDEXTER x VALERIE T.
