A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING BOOTS AND
EQUIPMENT FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS IN NORTH KOHALA, WAIKI`I
AND KANEHOA IN NORTH AND SOUTH KOHALA.
WHEREAS, volunteer firefighters are a critical and much needed support team who
assist the Hawaii Fire Department in responding to emergencies; and
WHEREAS, there are three volunteer fire stations with a total of 27 volunteers in
Council District 9; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department is requesting funds for the purchase of
wildland firefighting boots and equipment for volunteer firefighters at North Kohala, Waiki`i,
and Kanehoa in North and South Kohala; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Hawaii Fire Department for the purchase of wildland firefighting boots and equipment for
volunteer firefighters at the North Kohala, Waiki`i, and Kanehoa volunteer fire stations in North
and South Kohala; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC —Contingency Relief $5,000
CREDITED TO:
010.221.5226.02 Hawaii Fire Department $5,000

Firefighters)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
