Because our zoning code is so important to the future of our island, 1 think that it
should have the maximum input from the citizens Most of us do not know what is being
proposed by the new code. At the very least, there should be a list of all the changes that
the new code will make. If such a list is widely distributed, then meaningful discussion can
take place. A quick ratifying of a zoning code that is little understood will be a disservice
to the county
It is my impression that the new code takes authority from the Council and gives it
to the administration in some areas I think this is wrong- Theie are many other items that
I take issue with, but the point of this letter is not to criticize the new code, but to make
sure that all the citizens get a chance to study and comment on this new zoning code
