RESOLUTION NO. 3 9 4
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOPE SERVICES
HAWAII, INC., TO PAY TUITION FOR CHILDREN RESIDING AT NA KAHUA
HALE O ULU WINI TO ATTEND THE 2014 SUMMER FUN PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will be hosting the 2014 Summer
Fun Program at Kekuaokalani Gymnasium from June 9 through July 18, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii developed Nd Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini ("Ulu Wini")
which provides both transitional and permanent, low-income housing, and the children residing at
Ulu Wini are in need of funds to pay tuition to attend the 2014 Summer Fun Program; and
WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is in
charge of operating Ulu Wini; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., to
pay tuition for the children residing at Ulu Wini to attend the 2014 Summer Fun Program at
Kekuaokalani Gymnasium; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
