RESOLUTION NO. 412 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH
THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM ROUNDUP EVENT.
WHEREAS,Neighborhood Watch Program helps to identify and report suspicious and
possibly criminal activity within their communities, providing citizens with an opportunity to
contribute to safer neighborhoods and improving the quality of life; and
WHEREAS, active and significant participation from well-informed and equipped
residents is a key component to the success of the Neighborhood Watch Program; and
WHEREAS, the various neighborhood watch groups in the Puna district plan to stage a
Roundup Event in the fall of 2014 at Herbert C. Shipman Park in an effort to recruit participants
and provide organizational guides, informational tools and gear that are used in the
Neighborhood Watch Program; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Civil Defense Agency to assist with expenses associated with the Neighborhood Watch
Program Roundup Event; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Civil Defense Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
