RESOLUTION NO. 417 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KAILAPA
COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR
THEIR OUTREACH EFFORTS.
WHEREAS, the Kailapa Community Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that oversees the Kailapa Community Resource Center(KCRC); and
WHEREAS, KCRC represents a collaborative effort to serve the needs of the greater
community of Kawaihae, as well as to support the physical, mental, spiritual, and cultural health
and well-being of its residents; and
WHEREAS, two computers and supplies are essential to the Kailapa Community
Association's outreach efforts to inform the greater Kawaihae community of KCRC's programs
and community events; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Kailapa Community
Association for the purchase of two computers and supplies for their outreach efforts; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
