RESOLUTION NO. 418 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KAILUA VILLAGE
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, INC., FOR THE 2014 KAILUA-KONA COMMUNITY
INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS DISPLAY.
WHEREAS, the 2014 Kailua-Kona Community Independence Day Fireworks Display
will take place on July 4, 2014 to celebrate America's great day of independence with traditional
fireworks, to bring the community together at a safe venue to celebrate freedom; and
WHEREAS, Kailua Village Business Improvement District, Inc. (KVBID) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization and cosponsors the 2014 Kailua-Kona Community Independence Day
Fireworks Display; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to KVBID to pay for fireworks for the
2014 Kailua-Kona Community Independence Day Fireworks Display; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
