COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 830/Res. No. 393-14
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 393-14, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 393-14, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 830
dated April 14, 2014, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal
year for a multi-year lease of real property.
The resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a four-year lease agreement for property located at
81-6394 Mamalahoa Highway, Kona, Tax Map Key: 8-1-016:039 (por.), and the use of a 40 -foot
storage container located on the site for parking and storage at a cost of $600 per month, with the option
to rent on a month-to-month basis at the end of the four years.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be
made or approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 393-14, and
recommends its adoption.
