COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 825/13ill No. 242
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 242, reports as follows:
Bill No. 242, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 825 dated
April 14, 2014, amends Ordinance No. 13-66, as amended, relating to public improvements and financing
thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. The amendment is as follows:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Liquor Control Haz Mat Mitigation & Imp. — Private
(110.199.5191.54) $ 1,803,000
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
Private Contributions — Liquor Percentage Fees $ 1,803,000
The proposed bill adds the Public Works Liquor Control Hazardous Material Mitigation and
Improvements — Private project for $ 1,803,000 to the Capital Budget. Funds for the project shall be
provided from Private Contributions — Liquor Percentage Fees ($1,803,000). Funds would be used to
remove asbestos, mold, and mildew from the Liquor Control Department's office area and to renovate the
department's conference room according to Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget for that
year with a two-thirds vote.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 242, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
