Given the magnitude of the proposed changes to the Hawaii County Code, it is not in the general public's interest to hurry these changes into being. This process provides the public with less time than we had two years ago. The document entitled, "Notes on Zoning Code Revision" is complicated and complex reading and the public does not have adequate time to study the document. Also, since Monday the 15 of February was a holiday, Presidents' Day the Public Library and the office of the County Clerk were closed. Which leaves the public even less time to review the "Notes on Zoning Code Revision" document. The proposed amendments to the Hawaii County Code are very important matters to be considered, thus, I request Committee Meetings to address the comprehensive changes to the Zoning Code. Thank you for considering my request! The Hawaii County Council has until September, over a half a year to have these changes in place. Therefore, the complicated and complex text of the "Notes on Zoning Code Revision" can be thoroughly digested by the public and the Hawaii County Council, so as to encompass the best needs for the future "Quality of Life" for Big Island residents and a Healthy Visitor Industry. Thank you, Members of the County Council for your valuable time and consideration for this Public Hearing, concerning the proposed changes to the Hawaii County Code Zoning. Sincerely, V.23 Comm.
