BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Purpose. Rose Andrade Correia, born December 26, 1897, was a lifetime resident in Honoka`a until she left this life on December 23, 1979. She served as a member of the Hawai`i Saddle Club, which was established in 1954 to showcase the skills and talents of paniolo in an effort to preserve Hawai`i's proud ranching heritage and tradition. Rose Andrade Correia was instrumental in helping to develop a vision for the community, which led to the construction and development of the Honoka`a Rodeo Arena. The purpose of this ordinance is to commemorate in perpetuity the life and community efforts made by this truly remarkable woman. Therefore, the stadium at the Honoka`a Rodeo Arena is named in her honor, pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 8, Section 15-67 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), which establishes requirements for the naming of County parks and recreation facilities. SECTION 2. Chapter 15, article 8, section 15-68.1 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending the "Hilo/Hamakua" section to read and be appropriately numbered as follows: "Hilo/Hamakua Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium Ahualani Park `Ainako Park `Ainaola Park Aunty Sally Kaleohano's Lu`au Hale Bakers Beach Carlsmith Beach Park Charles "Sparky" Kawamoto Swim Stadium Clem Akina Park East Hawai`i Cultural Center Edith Kanakaole Multi-purpose Stadium Francis F.C. Wong Stadium Frank M. Santos Park Gilbert Carvalho Park
