Jr�vur M1�y'•, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :•f.6 ''';:W•: STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •,;.i-. :z_-........- <br /> MO i.... <br /> .,'.44-',!.1.;,-.:0•:-- <br /> BILL NO. 217 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 14 57 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 15-68.1 OF THE <br /> HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITY SCHEDULE. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose. Rose Andrade Correia, born December 26, 1897, was a lifetime <br /> resident in Honoka`a until she left this life on December 23, 1979. She served as a member of <br /> the Hawai`i Saddle Club, which was established in 1954 to showcase the skills and talents of <br /> paniolo in an effort to preserve Hawai`i's proud ranching heritage and tradition. <br /> Rose Andrade Correia was instrumental in helping to develop a vision for the <br /> community, which led to the construction and development of the Honoka`a Rodeo Arena. <br /> The purpose of this ordinance is to commemorate in perpetuity the life and community <br /> efforts made by this truly remarkable woman. <br /> Therefore, the stadium at the Honoka`a Rodeo Arena is named in her honor, pursuant to <br /> Chapter 15, Article 8, Section 15-67 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br /> amended), which establishes requirements for the naming of County parks and recreation <br /> facilities. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 15, article 8, section 15-68.1 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 <br /> (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending the "Hilo/Hamakua" section to read and be <br /> appropriately numbered as follows: <br /> "Hilo/Hamakua <br /> Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium <br /> Ahualani Park <br /> `Ainako Park <br /> `Ainaola Park <br /> Aunty Sally Kaleohano's Lu`au Hale <br /> Bakers Beach <br /> Carlsmith Beach Park <br /> Charles "Sparky" Kawamoto Swim Stadium <br /> Clem Akina Park <br /> East Hawai`i Cultural Center <br /> Edith Kanakaole Multi-purpose Stadium <br /> Francis F.C. Wong Stadium <br /> Frank M. Santos Park <br /> Gilbert Carvalho Park <br />
