Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 249,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 249, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee, via Communication No. 860
dated April 16, 2014, amends an existing provision and adds a new provision for portions of Hawai`i
Belt Road (Highway 11), also known as Mamalahoa Highway; Schedule 4 (30 mile per hour limit),
Subsection (f), Kona.
The purpose of the amendments is being proposed in an effort to increase safety through a portion of
Kealakekua.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Bill No. 249 and recommends its passage on first reading.
