No. 419-14 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:40 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 419-14, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 419-14, transmitted by Council Member Greggor Ilagan, via Communication No. 866 <br /> dated April 24, 2014, authorizes the Director of Finance to enter into negotiations for the acquisition of <br /> Tax Map Key: 1-4-093:042 in the District of Puna, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 42, Hawai`i County <br /> Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended). <br /> The land adjacent to Ahalanui Park and the Hot Pond (2.045 acres) is listed as the 13th priority for <br /> purchase by the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission. <br /> Finance Property Manager Ken Van Bergen came before Your Committee to answer questions. He stated <br /> that the parcel's assessed value is $400,000. Mr. Van Bergen added that the property abuts a County <br /> owned 20-acre parcel. <br /> Council Member Ilagan and Ford spoke in support of the resolution.
