RESOLUTION NO. 436 14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF
REAL PROPERTY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency presently leases property in the Hilo Iron Works
Building for office use; and
WHEREAS, by extending the lease for an additional two (2) years, the total monthly
rent is not to exceed $3,273.83. The rent is for Unit A-2, Phase I of the Hilo Iron Works
Building, Tax Map Key (3) 2-2-001-030; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a two (2) year lease agreement for the Mass Transit
Agency for Unit A-2, Phase I of the Hilo Iron Works Building, Tax Map Key
(3) 2-2-001-030.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to:
(1) Mayor William P. Kenoi; (2) Department of Finance; and (3) Mass Transit Agency.
