The SRTS program's goal is to <br /> improve the ability of children to walk or bicycle safely to school. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii <br /> Department Transportation for this grant. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the <br /> Operating Budget by appropriating this $100,000 grant to the Safe Routes to School program <br /> account. <br /> Please waive this resolution and bill from the Finance Committee and place them on the June 4, <br /> 2014 Council Agenda so that the funds may be accepted during the current fiscal year.
