The grant funds will be used to support the Hawaii County Police Department's <br /> efforts to prevent the sale of tobacco to minors. In the current fiscal year's budget, $8,000 is <br /> appropriated for this grant. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the <br /> additional funds into the Police Department's Department of Health—Tobacco Sting program <br /> account, and bringing the total grant appropriation to $10,900. <br /> The Police Department requests that this resolution be waived from the Finance Committee, and <br /> be placed on the June 4, 2014 Council agenda in order to complete this transaction during the <br /> current fiscal year.
