RESOLUTION NO. 441 14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF 47 LOGS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, Edwin DeLuz Trucking and Gravel LLC is donating 47 logs,
valued at $12,000 which includes hauling costs, to the Department of Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these logs will be utilized as barriers at several County park
facilities; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Edwin DeLuz Trucking and Gravel LLC, attn.: Kevin Balog, P.O.
Box 406, Pa'auilo, Hawaii 96776 acknowledging this generous donation.
