RESOLUTION NO. 442 14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR AGREEMENT FOR HOSTED VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL
(VOIP) PHONE SERVICE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year
or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the phone system currently in use by the Recreation division of the
Department of Parks and Recreation, located at 799 Pi`ilani Street, Hilo, Hawaii, is
irreparable and needs to be replaced ; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement for five
(5) years, for hosted VOIP service for the Department of Parks and Recreation; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year agreement
for hosted VOIP phone service for the Department of Parks and
Recreation.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement will be for a period of five (5)
years, at a cost not to exceed approximately $500 per month.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Parks
and Recreation, and the Finance Department.
