Dear Chairman Kern and Council Committee Members:
SUBJECT: COMMUNICATION NO.880
I am respectfully requesting that the nomination of Ms. Veronica "Lani" Eugenio to the North Kohala
Community Development Plan Action Committee also be withdrawn at this time so we may examine
and clarify certain issues pertaining to the nominating and selection process for Action Committee
membership.
There is no doubt as to Ms. Eugenio's community ties, and we fully expect to re-submit her again for
confirmation to the North Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee, but we are
requesting this opportunity to ensure that the nominating and selection process is in concert with the
administration's overall process for other boards and commissions.
I will be happy to respond to any questions or concerns that you may have with regard to this
communication.
