Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Barbara Bell of Council District 4 the County of Hawaii
Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission.
Ms. Bell is a 35-year resident of Hawai'i. She is a self-employed property manager.
From 2002 — 2007, Ms. Bell served as the Director of the County of Hawaii Department
of Environmental Management.
Ms. Bell is the Vice President of the Kapoho Beach Community Association, and a
member and past secretary of the Kapoho Water Company. Ms. Bell served as a
member of the Puna Community Development Plan Action Committee from 2008-2012,
and the Solid Waste Advisory Commission from 2007-2010. She states that she is a
member of the Green Party. If confirmed, Ms. Bell will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2017.
