RESOLUTION NO. 461 14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
MONETARY CONTRIBUTION FROM NA LEO `O HAWAII, INC.
FOR PRODUCTION COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE
VIDEOTAPING OF COUNCIL MEETINGS
WHEREAS,Na Leo `O Hawai`i, Inc. is contributing $37,500 for production costs
associated with the videotaping of Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, their contribution will ensure continued broadcasts of County
Council meetings on Na Leo, which is very important for an informed citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal
property; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai`i County Code
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall
within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance may be accepted by
resolution that is approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk recommends the acceptance of this
contribution; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai`i County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawai`i accepts this contribution.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to the Board of Directors, Na Leo `O Hawai`i Inc., 91 Mohouli Street,
Hilo, Hawai`i, 96720, acknowledging their contribution.
