RESOLUTION NO. 463 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEAUKAHA ONE
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOR ITS KEAUKAHA YOUTH PADDLING PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Keaukaha One Youth Development is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that assists youths in Keaukaha, Pana`ewa and other communities with programs and activities
that benefit the students by providing safe and healthy activities for the youths, including the
Keaukaha Youth Paddling Program; and
WHEREAS, the Keaukaha Youth Paddling Program provides a safe, secure, and
supervised environment which encourages the youthful participants to develop paddling skills;
and
WHEREAS, one of the Department of Parks and Recreation's goals is to support youth
programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Keaukaha One Youth Development for
its Keaukaha Youth Paddling Program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
