REGARDING: Comm. No. 886/Resolution No. 430-14
DATE: July 1, 2014
LOCATION: Council Chambers, Hilo, Hawai`i
TITLE: A Resolution Urging the Board of Water Supply to Take Any and All
Actions Necessary to Acquire Land and Develop a New Water Well,
Reservoir, Supporting Facilities, and a New Transmission Main in
Captain Cook, South Kona, Hawai`i.
EXPLANATION: From Council Member Brenda Ford, this Resolution urges the Board
of Water Supply to:
1. Authorize the placement of a new Captain Cook well,
reservoir, support buildings, and water main in its five-year
plan.
2. Authorize the Department of Water Supply to complete an
application to the Innovative Readiness Training Program to
engineer and construct the well to Department of Water Supply
standards.
3. Authorize the acquisition of the land (TMK: 8-2-001:113) that
shall be placed in the ownership of the Board of Water Supply
before any application is filed with the Innovative Readiness
Training Program.
AMENDMENTS: Comm. No. 886.1 Introducer :Ford Approved
RECOMMENDATION: Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability is in
accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution 430-14, as amended
to Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
