RESOLUTION NO. 469 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NA'ALEHU THEATER FOR
THE 2014 HILO SLACK KEY FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS,Na`alehu Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to the
preservation and furtherance of Hawai`i's culture and history: and
WHEREAS,NW alehu Theater will assist Ben Kaili, organizer of the 2014 Hilo Slack Key
Festival, with funding and other necessary support measures for the Festival; and
WHEREAS, this funding will be used for costs associated with promotion and publicity of the
Festival; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief
funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the
nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the grant shall be used;
and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Na`alehu Theater for the 2014 Hilo
Slack Key Festival; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $2,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
