REGARDING: Comm. No. 918/Resolution No. 452-14
DATE: June 17, 2014
LOCATION: Council Chambers, Hilo, Hawai`i
TITLE: A Resolution Urging the Administration to Withdraw Request For
Proposal No. 3044 and Issue a New Request For Proposal to Provide
for the Eligibility of those Entities or a Combination of Entities Which
Seek to Maximize the Output of Compostables.
EXPLANATION: From Council Member Margaret Wille, this Resolution is urging the
Administration to withdraw Request For Proposal No. 3044 regarding
the management of the County of Hawai`i's solid waste future and
issue a new Request For Proposal which would allow for more entities
or combination of entities to be eligible to bid.
Resolution 452-14 was on the June 17, 2014 Agriculture, Water and
Energy Sustainability Agenda which was recessed to July 1, 2014.
For informational purposes, Council Member Ford voted "kanalua"
once and then voted aye.
RECOMMENDATION: Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability is
not in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution 452-14 and
forwards it to Council with a negative recommendation.
