HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0093.008 1998-2000 County Council Office O 0 25 Aupuni St. Hilo, Hawaii 96720 1 come before you as a concemed citizen in support of the Eradication Program. We need to know we, Tax Paying Citizens, are safe here in Hawaii. When the Eradication is done right in our back yard, Several yards in the back, I have every right to ask that the Eradication to continue. We had trails going into our yard and the next door neighbors yard, there were questions why would anyone come through our yard ? ? ?? Then on June 9th, The Helicopters were hovering in the back. There were so many plants it was mind bongling. This is too close to home. There were cars goine in and out at all hours. We have dogs howling at all hours including from 11:30 till 5:00 A.M. We, the neighbors and I, could not understand why, until we saw the Helicopters eradicating the Ntarijuanas. Up at the Saddle Road areas, when we need to pick foliage, I come across potted plants and stay clear of the area. I would not go further for fear of danger to myself. For fear of Retaliatory traps. When would we have a peaceful solution? When we know that the Police Officers and the Helicopters are able to eradicate all the plants, and no more are being planted. The Helicopters flying over head is a blessing. We can be Thankful that someone is looking out for us. I strongly request that these officers who protect us be given the full benefit whether over time, Pay Raise, Helicopter time, to fully enforce the law. I strongly urge that the Helicopter and the Eradication program be kept on going and all the "Weeds" pulled out.
