HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2014-094 2012-2014 COUNTY OF HAWAII ••:rte;,: STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. 249 ORDINANCE NO. 4 94 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 1, SECTION 24-256 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. These amendments are being proposed in an effort to lower the speed limit to 30 mph and increase safety through a portion of Kealakekua. SECTION 2. Chapter 24,Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-256, Schedule 4. 30 mile per hour limit, subsection(f), Kona, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), be amended by revising existing item: (8) [Mamalahoa Highway] HAWAII BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 11), from a point five thousand one hundred feet SOUTH OF in the southerly direction from the terminus of the State Highway in Honalo to A POINT TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE FEET NORTH OF HAUKAPILA STREET the beginning of the State Highway in Captain C-eek. SECTION 3. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-256, Schedule 4. 30 mile per hour limit, subsection (f), Kona, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), be amended by adding new item and renumbering as required: ( ) HAWAI`I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 11), FROM A POINT ONE THOUSAND FEET SOUTH OF HALE KEEKEE PLACE TO THE BEGINNING OF THE STATE HIGHWAY IN CAPTAIN COOK. SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not be included. SECTION 5. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
