RESOLUTION NO. 482 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NA'ALEHU THEATRE
TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE 2014 HILO SLACK KEY MUSIC FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, Na`alehu Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the
continuity and advancement of Hawai`i's culture and history; and
WHEREAS, Na`alehu Theatre assisted Ben Kaili, organizer of the 2014 Hilo Slack Key
Music Festival, with fiscal and other necessary support related to the festival; and
WHEREAS, this funding will be used for reimbursement of expenses associated with the
festival, which was held successfully on Sunday, July 13, 2014; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Na`alehu Theatre for the
2014 Hilo Slack Key Music Festival; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $1,500

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
