JM(Y 'of'N�4 COUNTY OF HAWAII •:� '''-.'/ • STATE OF HAWAII .7TH OF•r. - RESOLUTION NO. 484 14 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF A DIGITAL MAILING SYSTEM (POSTAGE MACHINE) FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK, SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION. WHEREAS, the current digital mailing system located in the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services Division, has posted almost two million pieces of mail and is experiencing frequent breakdowns; and WHEREAS, effective January 2015, the vendor will no longer service this system as it is being discontinued, therefore, the Support Services Division will need to replace the current system, which lease is set to expire on November 30, 2014; and WHEREAS, the monthly lease payment for a new digital mailing system should be approximately $500 per month; and WHEREAS, the Postage-Council Svc account(010.101.5101.22) for the current fiscal year contains sufficient funds for the lease of the digital mailing system; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X, Section 10-11 of the County Charter, any contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-13 of the County Charter, the County may enter into contracts with private parties, which shall be signed by the Mayor and be approved by the Director of Finance as to the availability of funds; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement for a digital mailing system (postage machine) for approximately $500 per month for the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services Division.
