Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No . 666,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Bill No . 666 is to amend Ordinance 92-74 , the Capital
Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1993 , by adding revenue in
the amount of $800, 000 to the State Grant - Water Pollution Control
Revolving Fund and appropriating same to the Department of Public
Works, Old Kona Airport Sewage Pump Station and Force Main
Construction Cost account (110-699-5697 . 36-115) .
Your Committee understands that State Grant is being provided from
the Department of Health Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund which
will be used to finance the State' s share of the Kealakehe Sewage
Pump Station and Force Main construction cost . It is further
understood that the Department of Health requested that their payment
be made to the County and not directly to the contractors .
Your Committee would like the following questions answered by the
Department of Public Works before approving Bill No . 666 :
1 . What is the County' s share for the Old Kona Airport
Sewage Pump Station and Force Main Construction Cost
project? ;
2 . Is the $800, 000 State Grant the State ' s total share for
the project?
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose of
Bill No . 666 and recommends that it pass first reading .
