Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No. 513-92, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No. 513-92 is to authorize the Mayor to
enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with Lono Kona
Partnership for the Office of the Corporation Counsel, Family
Support Division.
Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the
appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year
be approved by resolution.
The County of Hawaii desires to lease office space of approximately
3 , 861. 98 square feet, unit nos . 205, 214 , 216A, 216B, 218B and 220A
in the Kukuau Plaza, 688 Kinoole Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 .
The lease begins on August 18, 1992 and ends August 18, 1997 . The
basic rent is $4, 820 .35, plus general excise tax. A draft copy of
the Lease Agreement is submitted as Exhibit A.
The State of Hawaii , Department of the Attorney General, Division of
Child Support Enforcement, has agreed to reimburse the County 100%
of the monthly rental cost over the lease period. This is supported
by Communication No . 4050, a letter from Norma Doctor Sparks .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 513-92 and recommends its adoption.
