Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No . 457-92, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 457-92 is to transfer the following
funds :

Comm. No. 3727, from FC Chair Helene H. Hale, dated May 19 , 1992,
transmits Resolution 457 to transfer $20, 000 from the General Fund
Contingency account 010-911-5911 . 13-341, designated for the Sister
Cities, and appropriate said funds and credit same to the Department
of Research and Development ' s Tourism Promotion Miscellaneous
Charges account 010-161-5161 . 60-341 . These funds will be used by
representatives of the Big Island for the promotion of tourism for
the Big Island at the World ' s Fair in Seville, Spain from August 26,
1992 to September 4 , 1992 .
A proposal regarding the World Expo ' 92, from Suzanne Shoemaker,
Director, Statewide Cultural Extension Program, University of Hawaii
at Manoa is transmitted for information.
Your Committee questioned Mr . Ken Johnson, Executive Director, HVB,
if these funds can pass through HVB in order to fund a Big Island
Hula group at the World ' s Fair . Mr. Johnson stated there would be
no problem since this is to promote the Big Island and the troup
will be part of the State promotion.
Resolution No . 457-92 is to be amended by changing the fund account
010-911-5911 . 13-341 Contingency account to 010-101-5101 . 02-115
