Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No . 426-92, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 426-92 is to transfer/appropriate
funds for computer equipment for the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney.

Communication No . 3419 , from Finance Director William Takaba, dated
March 13 , 1992, transmits Resolution 426 to transfer funds from the
Contingency Account to two Computer Equipment Accounts of the Office
of the Prosecuting Attorney. The purpose of this transfer is to
allow the Prosecuting Attorney to purchase needed computer equipment
for county, state, and forfeiture programs . A request for Council
Action and copy of the Computer Plan, Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney, are attached for review.
Your Committee learned from the Finance Director that the Data
Processing Study is due the latter part of next month. The
Consultant has no problems with this computer equipment purchase
since it will fit in with the new data processing plan.
Your Committee was concerned about space but Deputy Prosecuting
Attorney Jay Kimura assured the Committee that space is not a
problem. Kulani Prison manpower will provide renovation to the
office so that the computer equipment can be accomodated (present
unusable space will become functional) .

No . 426-92 and recommends its adoption.
