Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 590, reports
as follows :
The purpose of Bill 590 is to amend Ordinance 91-50, the Operating
Budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 1992, by increasing
revenues in the following account :
3301 . 04 FEDERAL GRANTS-AREA PLAN ON AGING $ 47, 500 . 00
3304 . 06 STATE GRANTS-AREA PLAN ON AGING $136, 256 . 00
Total $183 , 756 . 00
and appropriating to the following fund:
010-411-5411 . 10-115 AREA PLAN ON AGING
Misc Cont . Serv. $183 , 756 . 00
Communication No . 3410, from Finance Director William Takaba, dated
March 6 , 1992, submits Bill 590 to amend Ordinance 91-50 , increasing
revenues to the Office of Aging by $183 , 756 . 00 . He states, the
increase is due to three grants received through the U. S. Department
of Health and Human Services and the State Executive Office on
Aging . He further states that these grants will be used to expand
long-term care services for the elderly on this island. The
following documents were submitted for review: Request for Council
Action; Financial Assistance Award, DHHS; and Letter of Intent to
Contract, State EOA.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 590 and recommends that it pass first reading .
