Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 587, reports
as follows :
The purpose of Bill 587 is to increase the rental fee for use of the
Voter Registration tapes .
Communication No . 3382, from Deputy County Clerk Robert Shioji ,
dated March 6, 1992, submits Bill 587 which proposes a $100 . 00 flat
fee rate which would simplify the present two-tiered structure of
$25 . 00 plus $0 . 001 per registered voter . This would be adequate for
voter registration increases .
These voter registration tapes are used for the regular elections or
for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) elections .
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 587 and recommends that it pass first reading .
