Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 571, reports
as follows :
The purpose of Bill 571 is to amend Ordinance 91-51, relating to
Public Improvements and Financing thereof for Fiscal Year 1991-92 .
Communication 3322, from Chief Engineer Bruce C. McClure, P.E. ,
dated February 11, 1992, transmits the Fuel Tax Funded appropriation
Bill 571 to allow for implementation of road resurfacing projects,
for its respective amounts in each district, as well as circle
island projects . States the bill is similar to Bill 539 , which was
recently passed, but a couple of inadvertent mistakes were
discovered which could put its legality into question. Further
states the bill is in consonance with Resolution No . 351-91
(Draft 2) , previously adopted by the Council .
Your Committee agreed that Bill 571 supersedes Bill 539 and
requested Corporation Counsel to review the two bills and propose
amendments, if necessary.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 571 and recommends that it pass first reading .
