Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No. 417-92, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 417-92 is to amend Ordinance 91-52,
the Salary Ordinance, for Student Helpers in Office of Housing and
Community Development and Department of Civil Service.
Communication 3331, from Finance Director William Takaba, dated
February 14 , 1992, transmits Resolution 417 to amend the salary
ordinance of the County of Hawaii , section 8 . 02, increasing the
hourly pay of Student Helper II, Office of Housing and Community
Development, from $5 . 00 per hour to $5 .25 per hour, effective
4/1/92; and section 8 . 11, increasing the hourly pay of Student
Helper I , Department of Civil Service, from $4 . 50 per hour to
$4 . 75 per hour, effective 4/1/92 . States, the purpose of increasing
the hourly pay of the Student Helper I is to comply with the State
minimum wage requirement, and the purpose of increasing the hourly
pay of the Student Helper II is to maintain a pay relationship
between the two levels of work.
Pursuant to County Charter Section 3-13 , interim amendments to the
Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No . 417-92 and recommends its adoption.
